RESA  Designation Course for Real Estate Agents.

The Staging To Sell, What Every Agent Should Know is a 3-hour in class course designed to benefit the real estate sales/broker professionally by educating them on how staging will protect their client’s interests. It will position the agent as an advocate of staging and will set them apart from other agents.

With increasing competition the real estate industry, it is imperative that a real estate agent be educated on the most up-to-date marketing, concepts, trends and resources available to their clients.

A homeowner has the right to be told everything they can do to secure the best outcome when selling their number one asset, their home. The average homeowner’s number one asset is the equity in their home. When a homeowner decides to sell their home their goal is to sell it for as much money as possible and to sell quickly. The homeowner hires a real estate agent to facilitate this process and they trust the agent is fulfilling their fiduciary duty and acting in their best interest. If the agent is uneducated on the latest marketing techniques including staging, the rights of the homeowner to be given the choice to stage or not to stage are taken away. It should always be the homeowner's choice to accept staging or not. However, they do have a right to be given the option so they can make an informed decision.

By taking this course, not only will an agent be able to effectively communicate the benefits of staging to their clients, the agent will be able to facilitate the screening of a professional stager. Not all stagers are created equally. Hiring a hobbyist stager who may be operating unethically and may not be following standard staging practices could not only adversely affect the sale of the home, a homeowner could end up in a liability situation should damages or injury occur during the staging or showing process as a result of using a hobbyist stager.

This course will educate the agent on how to look for red flags that would indicate a stager is operating their business as a hobby vs. operating as a legitimate professional, including but not limited to knowing the type of insurance a stager should carry as well as understanding standard staging contract clauses.

A real estate professional completing this class will understand:
  • How to avoid the risk of breach of duty and negligence claims by offering staging as an resource to their clients
  • How to protect their clients from litigation by knowing what questions to ask a stager
  • How to use home staging to reduce disclosure issues
  • Standard staging contract clauses
  • The cost and value of home staging, ROI factors
  • Importance of leveraging marketing efforts with staging, photos and Internet presence
  • Course comes with over 50-staging tips that agents can use immediately
  • The common contract clauses that professional stagers use and what your clients need to know about them
  • How the entire pre-market staging process will benefit your client and secure your relationship as a true advocate for their best interest

Upon completing this course, agents will earn the RESA Certified Staging Advocate (CSA) Designation.
